Well, indeed it has been such a great journey in both the IE semesters. I enjoyed last semester more than this one in particular as Yousef and I did not have any major tasks to do. When I mean major, I mean Craigs and James major..heheheh Yousef and I did work on some pretty interesting stuff this semester which includes database synchronisation with Mysql and SQLyog, crytal reports was an unbelieveable experience for me as I have never worked with these applications before but thanks to Craig and james for giving us the opportunity work in these areas of the project. With regards to the development, it was soley done by James and Craig was a really good Project Manager. He always kept Yousef and I busy with micro tasks which kept us at it all the time. I am really going to miss all these guys after we done with uni. We have been together since the begining and we became so so close to each other, more like family. But not bragging about anything but our project is of the highest quality and calibre. Its unbelievable......
All in all, really had a good three years with my friends I met along the way. It has been an incredible experience coming from Africa. Now that I am in Australia I realise what I have been missing all these years and what my family is missing presently. I love this country and would persue a future here and hopefully a properous career as well.
To all our tutors and Lecturers. Its been a real pleasure working with you all! Best experience thus far!!!!!!!
POD, Jake and Dave and off course the lovely Helana, you guys Rock!!!!!!!
I will always cherish fond memories of being in your classes!
Thank you!

Week12
Has been a really busy week trying to nut out stuff. Have been working with some reports on crystal and boy did I have a hard time trying to get these reports done. Well went away and did followed the right steps in binding the report to the data source but the problem came along when we tried to put in calculated fields into the report. Visual studio and crystal have a big whah about that but after lots of googling and teething I manage to pull something out. Its always the case where your problem seems so enormous that it would require a massive fix
but yeah it only took a few clicks into the report designer and wallah report was fixed. Just used the wizard instead of manually creating a datatable and binding it to the report to show up calculated fields but that was a good learning experience indeed. A big learning curve for me indeed as I have never worked with crystal reports before.
Everythingelse seems on track with other assignments but IE this semester was worrying for me cos I did not have major tasks assigned to me but tried to the best of my ability to fullfill those tasks and did come up tops with some tasks but was really an intuitive experience...
End is almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cant wait

Week 11
Has been a pretty busy week with assignments due and stuff. Have been working around the clock to get all my stuff in order. Meeting at uni tomorrow with the guys to work on some documentation and stuff. Should hopefully get tons done tomorrow. Cant believe how fast this semester has gone by..... I can see the end!
Was a slow weekend, everyone went to the Footy I guess. Still battling with broadband in Berwick. Its absolutely insane. Now wored broadband in a brand new Estate. Havve been waiting for almost 2 years now. Satellite broadband is such a headache I tell you. Latency is so so high bit on the other had at least I got something a little bit better then "dielup"
Some screenshot of a ping to www.google.com
Ridiculous!!!!!
Until next week!!!!!

Week 10
Damn ticket offices, could not even give me 5 minutes to update my ticket. Well 5 minutes later and a $60 fine. That just sucks........ Damn ticket tumble dryer.....
Well my car....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............. Has set me back another $600. CV joints need replacing..... Come on car just a few more weeks to go until I replace you.
Skipped our IE meeting this week due to work commitments but all has seemed to go through very well. Just some tidying up here and there to finish up. Need to get the user guide finalized between us all. Craig and James absulutely light years ahead in terms of programming and designing the system. One of the very few talented people I have met.
Yousef and I have finalized our database syncing with SQLYOG. Seamlessly easy tool to use and works very well! One way syncing and two syncing is available. Have also looked at rysnc. Works very well as well. Thats the linux version......
Opensource for open minds!!!!!

Week 9
Well, the end is almost here!!! Anxiety is building up and eventually everything is going to be gone by so fast. Its starting to get scary to know that in just a little over a month and half we are out of here and into the big world. Have attended the IBM career fair today. Seems like a pretty interesting place to work at but being an international you need to have your PR sorted out before you can apply for these roles which is the down side but in the next few months I should have that and am willing to give IBM a shot and see how I go.
IE, lets see, still busy with db syncing. Havent wrapped it around my head as well. Definitely not as easy as I thought it would be. Looking at some tools like rsync for linux and see how that works. But all in all, James has got more than 90% of the system running and from a functional point of view its pretty sound. User docs and guides are a daunting task but will get there eventually.
Other than that, am pushing hard on the other assignments coming up and hoping to finish them all up soon!

Week 8
I just wish my car would work for me when I really need it to work. First it was, starter motor, then the brakes and now the cv joints!!!!!!Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Money, money, money!!!! I just need it for a few more weeks. Come on car hang in there. So much for my waggon wheel.
Uni has went well this week, meeting with out client this week, looking forward to that. Development is at +- 80%. Still have some tidying up to do, such as user guide, installation guide etc..... Lots of work ahead......
Other subjects going pretty well, interesting stuff with FIT3056 Secure and Trusted Software Systems. Learning about Buffer Overflows, SQL injections, Awesome stuff DR Le. Analysis and Design Methods streaming along steadily. Just finishing up stuff for my portfolio for SDI.
Looking forward to the end now!!!! Cant wait to get back into Industry!

Week 7
It has been considerably a busy week indeed. Lots of assignments due and work that needs to be covered. Secure Software has been a real challenge this semester. Some really interesting stuff that we are currently exploiting for our first assignment. Its scary to know how exploitable code can actually be..... Very interesting unit Monash.
FIT2027 has been good. As always POD and Dave = 100%;;;;; Thank you! IE has be going good. We have a meeting next week with our client as they are back from my home country Africa. At least the lions did not rip them apart cos we spoke to them today.DB sync stuff going good but also looking into replication with mysql and going to see how difficult or easy it is to implement and deploy. Looks easy by theory but practically I think its not that straight forward.
The end is almost here now.... Cant wait for it!!!!! Lets go boys!
