Been quiet a pretty busy week for us all. We met with our client this week and ironed out most of the stuff with them.. Its looking pretty good and with regards to architecture it looking to be pretty solid. Lots of technologies going to be integrated and its going to be very interesting indeed.
Our risk report is almost in order so thats cool. Yousef and I have been doing lots of db design and try things out. Looking pretty good. I managed to find a pretty good sql data generator that worls like a dream. Our db design is al done on paper now gonna put it the test and testing I will pump loads of data in there to make sure its stable as possible.
Guess what... still no broadband. Its pathetic.... Everyone thought gone were the days of Dielup but I tell you thats seems to be the only thing that works sometimes when satelite decides it worked too much. Looking forward to getting some marks from Dave this week. Well if Dave had a good surf this weekend then we all should pretty do alright!
Anyway back to the grind this week!!!!
Until next week......

Week4
Well for some of you guys having a great break..... Enjoy it while you can. Unlike me and the rest of our group members we working 24/7. Have been conducting more interviews at Nandos this week. Some pretty hot talent in the Ringwood area. Looking forward to the big opening of our store next weekend.
Have been searching around for hosting options for our client and damn it is ridiculously expensive. But yeah managed to get some pretty good providers at a reasonable rate so we will see how we go.
Another than that I cant believe that I still cannot get broadband at my place. Absolutely shocking I tell you. I havent had broadband in 2 years now. I have satellite at the moment...... I promise you no word of lie the latency on that has to be higher than the fuel price. Its absolutely frustrating and its not like I live in some isolated place. I live in Berwick and yeah no luck for me cos Helstra says that there isnt any port available for me at the exchange. 2 years to install a port and still no port. Thats Helstra for you. I mean Craig lives in Warragul and he has broadband..........Come on!!!!!
We have a meeting with our client this week over the break so will be good. We have an awesome client!!!!!!
So until next week..... Go Momo!

Week2
It has been a busy week thus far. Hope fully we get our project by the end of this week!!!!!
Some on campus units are so boring to make mention of if not all are. DE came to the rescue!!Yeah.. Have had more fun with the new security units introduced this semester. Going through some really interesting stuff... Stuff that you can actually take on board into Industry.
Have been mangling with Kerberos for most of week.... Almost done with setting up my Kerberos authentication server. It is indeed not as straight forward as I thought it was. Well anything running on a Linux box is always interesting to play around with. Its a fantastic authentication system and Monash yes Monash relies on it heavly. Its is as secure as you get them nowadays. Very interseting... Anyone into network Security??? Have a read: web.mit.edu/Kerberos/
Well for the rest of the week I have been securing a little webserver that I have setup. Its running of my laptop at present but will get it to another machine soon.... when I have the time that is. Its currently running Ubuntu server 7.10 with LAMP. Basically I just used .htaccess and Htpasswd to secure all directories on there. Works like a dream. Now that was straight forward....
More linux admin comming up!
Until next week!!!
